My upcoming album out soon

September 13, 2019

I’ve been working on a full length album over the last few years and it’s finally almost done. It’s a collection of tracks that I’m really proud of and showcase a range of emotions and electronic styles. From dark techno to experimental spoken word to electronic pop–all with my own poetry translated into lyrics. I’ve been researching the perfect outlet to release it on and am making some good progress on that front. I hope to have it out early in 2020.

In the last few years, I have also been focusing on building a live performance set using only hardware machines–a sampler, synth and vocal effects. I’ve been performing the set around Portland, and have gotten a great response. This has been a lifelong dream of mine to build a performance of this caliber.

Next Saturday on September 21, 2019, I will have the pleasure of sharing the stage with the famed Mark Hosler of Negativland, Daniel Menche and Neybuu among other stellar electronic artists. If you find yourself in Portland looking for a good show, please do come out to see us!

SciFiSol Live Techno Performance Debut!

March 26, 2019

I have been working on building a live performance set of uptempo techno songs in the last year using only electronic instruments. In the past, I’ve relied on a laptop to perform my music, but in the last few years, I’ve made the transition to using drum machines and synthesizers which I control during the performance. This is a studio recording of the set, which features quite a few songs off of my upcoming album due out this summer. I hope you enjoy! Please follow me on Soundcloud to keep up with my work.

SciFiSol featured on 2 podcast interviews

December 19, 2018

SciFiSol Music

I was recently featured on a few podcasts. It’s funny, I have never been interviewed in this way and then all of a sudden, I do two of them. When it rains, it pours.

The first one was produced by Form the Head Records, which is a techno electronic music label based in Portland, Or. My friend Jason Walker who makes music under the moniker, Thiefteam, conducted the interview. You can listen to it here: http://formthehead.libsyn.com/fth005-scifisol-christina-broussard

Here’s a link to Form the Head Records on Bandcamp: https://formthehead.bandcamp.com/

The next podcast I was on was put out by Talking to Ghosts. This one is really interesting because they’ve done over a hundred interviews with various artists and creators. It’s more conversational and over and hour and a half long! You can check it out here: Episode 123 – SciFiSol https://www.talkingtoghosts.com/home/2018/12/17/episode-123-scifisol

Thanks for listening!

In the show, I play lots of different tracks from several musical projects I’m involved in including SciFiSol, Solar Drift ambient electronic band, and Camino Acid, my live techno duo with Carlo Pearson / Senor Frio. In the playlist, there are several live studio recordings of unreleased tracks that I’m working on for my next release. Also a little mini interview with Robert Ham towards the middle of the show.
